Is Canva Pro worth it? An online graphic design tool that makes it easy to create designs for marketing and print from your smartphone. This post contains affiliate links for Canva Pro and ads by Monumetric. Thanks for your support!
I have been using Canva to promote my blog for a few years now.
To be honest, I adore this tool.
I used the free version until my blog started to turn a profit.
Now that I earn enough from blogging to cover the cost, I decided to invest my blog profits into the online graphic design tool.
Since then, my Pinterest traffic increased to 266k monthly views. And I’ve been able to increase blog traffic by using more suitable images for each post.
In this post, I will review the online graphic design tool, Canva Pro, to let you know if it’s worth it to upgrade to the paid version.
Let’s get started.
Canva Pro: What is it?
Canva Pro is an online graphic design tool used to create images, advertisements, and content for social media, for marketing, or for print materials.
There is an app and website to create and edit content with their tools. In addition, they provide free stock images.
It is similar to Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, to give you an idea of what it is.
It’s not as advanced. However, it is a modern version that is a hundred times easier to use.
Anyone with a mobile phone can download Canva and start making content immediately with the free version of Canva.
If you want access to a more premium version of Canva, with premium fonts and access to more stock images, you will need to upgrade to Canva pro.
Features
The free version of Canva is great if you don’t plan to use it often.
But if you are looking for a more professional option, Canva Pro provides:
Everything Free has, plus:
- Create 1 Brand Kit and upload your own fonts and logos
- One-click design Magic Resize
- 420,000+ free templates with new designs daily
- 75+ million premium stock photos, videos, audio and graphics free-to-use
- Save designs as templates for your team to use 100GB of cloud storage
- Schedule social media content to 7 platforms
Out of these options, the brand kit provides a lot of value. It allows you to preset a colour scheme, logo, and fonts to save time.
In addition, Canva Pro provides access to 75+ million premium stock images to use. It’s nice if you run a blog, because you have images that are unique to your blog only.
And then you can save your own templates for quick reuse and branding.
Pricing
I personally spend $16.99 per month on Canva Pro access.
However, you can get Canva Pro access for $155.88 per year, and you can split that amount between up to 5 people. So, technically it could be as low as $2.60 per month per person.
They also have larger plans that provide access to up to 50 users.
Depending on the size of your team, Canva has a plan for everyone.
And they offer a Canva Pro free trial to test out the benefits and features.
Who Should Use Canva Pro
Simply put, Canva Pro is for bloggers, marketers, and professional advertisers.
However, Canva is also a great tool for students, as it can be used to create powerpoint presentations, calendars, and professional documents.
If you are a blogger or website owner looking to promote your blog on social media, you should use the Canva free version at the very least.
If your website earns enough income to cover the cost of Canva Pro, it could be a high return on investment option to invest your profits.
In my case, the access to stock images and a brand kit allows me to create pins quickly.
Now that I create three or more pins per day, my Pinterest views are up to 266k monthly.
Otherwise, Canva is a fantastic tool if you are a crafty person.
If you own a business or company, you should consult with a lawyer and review Canva’s guidelines for using their stock images.
Is Canva Pro Worth It?
Yes, if you run a website or blog that earns income, Canva Pro is worth it because it will help you grow traffic.
However, if you are a student or just a crafty person, the free version of Canva is good enough.
If you really want the paid version, you could consider paying for it with a group of 5 to lower the cost.
Final Thoughts
I have been a huge supporter of Canva, even the free version, ever since I started using it.
So, I’m happy to get the opportunity to review the Canva Pro version after using it for the last few months.
Ultimately, it’s worth it to pay for Canva Pro if you are a blogger, website owner, or marketer trying to promote a product, service, or your channel.
For a reasonable monthly price, Canva Pro provides access to millions of free stock images and the ability to create a brand kit that saves you a lot of time.
If you are looking for an easy-to-use graphic design tool to create images, advertisements, content for social media, or print materials, I would highly recommend Canva Pro.
